Take your pick between the locally sourced Mediterranean dishes of casual Dins El Llorenç, or the gastronomic prowess of Dins Santi Taura – both of which are overseen by chef Santi Taura. The former overlooks the tranquil park opposite, while the latter occupies a more intimate space which includes an open kitchen and 11th-century Arabic oven found during excavations on the site. After 16 years running his acclaimed eponymous restaurant in Lloseta village, Taura now resides at El Llorenç, using the best local and seasonal produce.

At Dins Santi Taura, an exquisite tasting menu inspired by the islands’ culinary heritage and traditions costs €85 (£72), and can be paired with local wines for €55 (£47). The Origens menu comprises 11 ‘steps’, with the option to add three extra dishes too. Bespoke cutlery and hand-thrown pottery created by Taura himself add an exclusive touch. The menu changes regularly, but on my visit it featured lampuga (a local fish) marinated in salt and sugar with a piquant red pepper emulsion, and red prawn aioli rice with prawn truffles. Deserts included a lemon and spicy meringue-topped creation, and a herby chocolate dessert with pomegranate seeds.

Breakfast is an à la carte menu of juices, yogurt, bread, pastries, smoked salmon, cheeses and cold cuts. Eggs are made to order.
